Uninstall SerfSearch via Control Panel
- Open the Start menu by pressing the Windows key.
- Click Settings and then click System on the Settings menu.
- Select Apps & features on the left side. A list of all installed programs will show up in the right pane.
- Select the adware program and click the Uninstall button.
- Click the Uninstall in the pop-up to confirm.
- Click on the Start button and select Control Panel (Windows 7/Vista). If you use Windows 8/8.1, press the WIN (Windows) key and the X key together to open User Power Menu and then click on Control Panel.
- Click on Uninstall a program under Programs (View by: category.) or Programs and Features (View by: Large Icons).
- Find the adware or its related programs and click on Uninstall button.
- Click on Start button and click on Control Panel.
- Double click on Add/Remove Programs.
- When all the programs are displayed, find the unwanted program and click on Remove button.
Remove unwanted add-ons/toolbars from browsers
SerfSearch may install some browser add-ons or toolbars to inject advertisements into the web pages. You need to check the browser extensions and remove any suspicious one.
Click the Tools button, and then select Manage Add-ons from the drop-down menu.
Click on Toolbars and Extensions under types of add-ons.
If any toolbar or add-on associated with the unwanted program is found, click Remove button to delete it.
Note: If you use Edge browser, extensions aren’t available in Microsoft Edge at this time.
Click Tools or the Firefox menu button and choose Add-ons from the pull-down menu.
Select the Extensions on the left side of the page. All the installed Firefox add-ons will be displayed on the right. Find SerfSearch or other suspicious add-ons and click the Remove button to uninstall them.
Click on the Chrome menu button at the top-right corner of the browser and click on More Tools and thenExtensions.
All the installed Chrome extensions available are showed. Find the extensions that are associated with the adware program and click on the trashcan icon.
Click on “Opera” menu icon at the top left corner and select Extensions -> Extensions manager from the menu.
In the Extensions page, search for any extension strange to you that is related to SerfSearch and remove it from the browser.
Click the Safari menu icon at the top right corner of the browser and select Preferences from the menu.
Select Extensions tab and remove the unwanted add-on by clicking Uninstall button.

Reset your browser settings (Optional)

When resetting browser settings is completed, please click Close and then click OK.
Click on Help on the menu bar and then select Troubleshooting Information.
Click on Refresh Firefox button in the Troubleshooting information page.
When the Reset Firefox dialog box appears, click on Refresh Firefox button to confirm the changes.
Click on the Google Chrome menu button in the top-right corner of the browser and select Settings from the menu.
In the chrome settings page, scroll down to the bottom and click on Show Advanced Settings.
Click on Reset browser settings button at the bottom of the page.
When the Reset Browser Settings dialog box pops up, click on Reset button.
Open Opera and type opera://about in the address bar.
In the About Opera page, go to the Paths section.
Note the Profile and Cache values. In my case, they have following path:
C:\Users\winaero\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
C:\Users\winaero\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Stable
Close Opera and then delete these two folders: Profile and Cache.
Now run Opera. All its settings will be reverted to their defaults.
Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and click on the Reset Safari in the drop-down menu.
When a warning dialog box appears, click on the Reset button to complete the process.
Safari will restart automatically.
